Hello, Dorchester School District 2.

I’m writing to express my interest in a position as a teacher’s assistant that could enhance a student’s life.

I’ve been working with people with mental challenges and disabilities for the past 25 years. Over the years, my skills in communication, empathy, and the ability to engage supporting strategies that contribute to that student's academic success. I’m also able to tailor my methods and strategies to meet that student’s specific needs. I’ve learned over the years that it’s essential to provide a productive and respectful environment.

A mission statement from the District’s Superintendent Dr. Robbins was his list of making a winning team: culture, contagious, consistent, communication, connect, commitment and care. All these characteristics align with my values and precisely what I’m the most hopeful for when considering DD2. Together with a specific plan tailored to that student’s needs us aligning a plan, creating strong but realistic routines and lastly ditching the negativity.
